The 9th Annual Leonard Simpson’s 10 Best Dressed Awards Gala will be held at The Prado Ballroom and Casa del Prado Theater in Balboa Park. The theme of this year’s theatrical awards ceremony is “En Pointe at the Prado.” Guests attending the exclusive, will enjoy the red carpet VIP press party and cocktails, a glamorous silent and live auction, an elaborate sit down dinner, the spectacular Broadway style Show with music and dancing. This signature gala will benefit the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet, the resident classical ballet school in Balboa Park since 1945, whose mission is to provide the youth of San Diego with an opportunity to study, understand and appreciate, through education and participation, the art of ballet, and to enrich the cultural life of the community.

Leonard Simpson’s 8th annual 10 Best Dressed Awards Gala will take place on October 23 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa and will pay tribute to the late Sally B. Thornton, who co-founded the event with Simpson. Honorary chairs are Jo Ann Kilty and Mary Lyman, with Ray and Daran Grimm serving as event chairs and Margo Schwab and Scott Johnston as honorary co-chairs. Proceeds will benefit The Moyer Foundation, founded by Rancho Santa Fe residents Karen Moyer and her husband, Jamie, a former World Series Champion pitcher, to provide comfort, hope, and healing to children affected by loss and family addiction. Leonard Simpson’s 8th annual 10 Best Dressed Awards Gala benefitted The Moyer Foundation, founded by Ranch residents Jamie and Karen Moyer to provide comfort, hope, and healing to children affected by loss and family addiction. The gala paid tribute to the late Sally B. Thornton, who co-founded the event with Simpson. Honorary chairs were Jo Ann Kilty and Mary Lyman, with Ray and Daran Grimm serving as event chairs and Margo Schwab and Scott Johnston as honorary co-chairs.

Dress for Success San Diego and Leonard Simpson of Fashion Forward are teaming up to empower disadvantaged women to achieve social and economic self-sufficiency. The 7th annual gala, founded by Simpson and Sally B. Thornton, will celebrate local philanthropists who dress every day with the “gloves of compassion and a coat of courage.” Ten males and ten females will be recognized not only for their fashion sense, but also for their giving spirit and philanthropic efforts. The award ceremony, hosted by actress Vanessa Williams, will be held on Thursday, November 13, at 5:30pm, at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines. Enjoy a theatrical runway fashion show, awards ceremony, formal dinner, dancing, and silent and live auction. Event chairs are Mina Kooklani and Kristi Pieper; honorary chair is Kelly Emberg.
